“Dear PoPville,
Did restaurant week yesterday. We’ve heard of 3 or 4% fair wage charges….. but 20% ?!! which doesn’t include tip. anyone else seeing these type of charges? is there any way to know before going to a restaurant if they have these?”
Note: It’s a bit confusing isn’t it? Will “provide competitive wages and benefits to both kitchen and service staff.” Aren’t servers, “service staff.” So is one not expected to tip since they are being compensated with this fee? Is this just to cover minimum wage? What is the tipping etiquette here?
