Working with jurisdictional partners, Metro continues to monitor winter weather approaching the region to adequately respond to service needs. Monday, January 6 – Thursday, January 9, 2025

On Monday, January 6, 2025 the counting and certification of the 2024 Presidential Election will occur during a Joint Session of Congress. From Tuesday, January 7, 2025, through Thursday, January 9, 2025, the State Funeral of former President Jimmy Carter will take place in the District of Columbia. Numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Metropolitan Police Department, the United States Secret Service, the United States Capitol Police and others will provide security for the event to ensure the safety of visiting dignitaries, attendees, and members of the public.
