From AlertDC:

“The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Snow Squall Warning for the District of Columbia until 4:15PM.

HAZARD: Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts up to 35 mph.

IMPACT: Dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions are expected to develop rapidly in the warning area.

This includes Interstate 95 in Maryland between mile markers 1 and 3.

Earlier this week a reader asked if: “anyone know what’s going on with the road work on 22nd St NW between P and Q?”

Thanks to Bill for passing on more details from DC Water:

“Emergency repairs are progressing on a nine-foot sewer tunnel that has closed a section of 22nd St NW since early July. DC Water and its contractor have made significant repairs to reinforce the tunnel. Repairs to a large void above the tunnel are ongoing to mitigate the risk of a sinkhole and collapse under the weight of traffic. Additional work is expected to continue for another five to six weeks, before a portion of the road can reopen. (more…)

“Funeral services honoring former President Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the
United States, begin Jan. 4, 2025 and conclude on Jan. 9, 2025. (more…)

Seemed professional and clean cut, intelligent and his story tracked as far as what he knew about NYC and his phone number was NYC area code. I started feeling uncomfortable after I gave him my number and he sent me his. He kept asking about coffee shops that were open on Christmas and trying to get me to go for a walk with him. (more…)
