PSA: The 2025 Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon Cometh – See all the Street Closures Coming Saturday

“On Saturday, March 15, 2025, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon and 5K will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be parking restrictions and street closures that motorists should take into consideration.

When safe to do so, the Metropolitan Police Department will assist motorists in crossing the race route to help relieve traffic congestion due to the extended closures. However, motorists should not rely on crossing the route and should plan on going around the traffic closures.

The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025: (more…)

Heads Up for Trackwork this weekend: “Buses replace trains on portions of Blue, Orange, and Silver lines”

“On Saturday March 8 and Sunday March 9, free shuttle buses will replace trains between Cheverly and Eastern Market on the Orange Line and Addison Road and Eastern Market on the Blue and Silver lines.

Potomac Avenue, Stadium-Armory, Benning Road, Minnesota Ave., Deanwood, and Capitol Heights stations will be closed as crews make repairs to aerial structures over the Anacostia River. (more…)

“The previous U.S. Military flyover which was scheduled for today in the National Capital Region (NCR) over Arlington National Cemetery at 1:15 PM is updated to occur at 12:10 PM.“

The Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin posted residential street sweeping on Monday, March 3rd. The program will run through October 31st, and motorists are asked to obey posted signs indicating the schedule of parking restrictions to ensure streets are swept thoroughly. (more…)
