“Dear PoPville,
I just wanted to let you know that I went to the 11th and R st NW USPS blue mailbox and someone put adhesive in the top of the mailbox. It wasn’t extremely visible but my mail got stuck multiple times and I had to pry it off. I luckily caught this and was able to try to shove my mail in (took 4 tries) but it looks as though someone is trying to steal mail and I wanted to make sure people are aware to double check to see if their mail actually gets placed in mailboxes.”

DC Fire & EMS reported starting at 6:14pm: “Water rescue Potomac River vicinity Joint Base Bolling. Credible report of 3 people who fell from vessel and have not resurfaced. #DCsBravest Fireboats and other units + @DCPoliceDept Harbor Division conducting active search.”
at 8pm they reported: “Update Potomac River water rescue. Sadly, after an extensive water, land and air search for over 2 hours, this incident has transitioned to a recovery operation. 3 adult males remain missing. (more…)

Just a heads up to let people know. The man who you posted about a few times (exposing himself in public parks) was seen this AM in Stead Park doing the same thing around 7:30 AM.

I just saw the parking lady out writing tickets again, so I went and spoke to her. She told me that the green “2 hours OR a parking sticker” areas are fine to park in and no tickets are being written. But for any spots labeled “resident parking only” tickets are being written again for anyone parking there without a proper sticker. I also saw her write a ticket for someone who was parked past the last parking sign (parked too close to the corner).”

I live in on Westminster Street in Shaw, which has a children’s park on the street and many families in the area that come to play there. I was leaving my house around 6:45PM [Monday] and was walking west on Westminster and a tall (probably 5’11” or 6’0″), lanky, african-american, male approached me.
