“Dear PoPville,

This morning at 7am I walking to the gym when I realized a man, standing in the doorway of an apartment building on 17th & S Streets NW (across from the S Street dog park) was holding the door open with one arm, and masturbating/aggressively waving his genitalia at me with the other.

I quickly fled but there are many, many solo runners at that hour and many families with children. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to reach out to spread the awareness about an unwell man in Navy Yard. As quick background, our dog was born with a medical condition and walks with a bad limp. We have been treating it since he was a puppy but there is nothing we can do until he is older. He’s given pain medicine (as needed) and is well taken care of and frequently sees the vet.

Last week, a man with blue hair approached my girlfriend while she was walking our dog and continuously commented on our dog’s leg. She asked him to leave her alone and was able to walk away.

This morning around 7:20 am, the man approached her again. He was screaming at her, followed her, kept trying to get close to her, and at one point even laid in the street. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

(Thursday, 8/18) I was walking on North Carolina Ave SE near Lincoln Park when a man approached me and started asking me questions in rapid succession. I tried to walk away from him but he persisted. After 2-3 minutes of having him walk next to me asking slightly obtrusive questions, I told him I was in a hurry and sped up to get some distance on him. When I reached 10th and North Carolina I decided to turn north and hope he continued down North Carolina Ave. At first it seemed like my plan had worked, but within 30 seconds I realized that he was walking behind me still, but with about 50 feet between us. He started shouting “Hey! Hey!” at me and as I turned around I realized he was running towards me. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I was having a hard time figuring out how to bike TO the new Wegmans. Going via the Wisconsin Ave. garage entrance didn’t feel right, it’s all about cars there. Wegmans wrote me today with photos and explained how to bike around to other side. Thought this might be cool info for your biking readers. Here is their email to me today with photos.” (more…)
