Thanks to a reader for passing on CM Jack Evans latest parking prowess outside the Wilson Building.
In other Jack Evans news – from the Washington Post:
“Former Metro board chairman Jack Evans threatened the jobs of the agency’s top lawyer and board secretary in an effort to keep secret that the panel’s ethics committee had found he committed a violation, according to confidential agency documents.”

“Dear PoPville,
Saw this go down at R and 14th Thursday night. Forester was blocked in by a motorcycle “illegally” parked behind it. Owner of the car actually walked to 3+ businesses to try and find the owner. Collective agreement at Red Light was to back into it to get out.
My wife and I have seen similar shady park jobs on 14th and U by motorcycles.”

A reader reports:
“Kalorama Rd and Tracy Place (near the Trump/Kushner property), paparazzi parked all day every day. Parked on wrong side of road in front of fire hydrants. Difficult to safely make a right turn onto Tracy Pl from Kalorama Rd. One on Kalorama Rd not as obstructive, but still…why do they not get ticketed? Inquiring minds want to know…” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
Over the past two weeks, an early morning Jump bike user is regularly blocking the entire bike rack next to my office. I’ve noticed similar poor parking jobs with Jump bikes in multiple places throughout the city while riding. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
The below-email is from the Elevation building (100 Florida Ave. NE), the big apartment building on Dave Thomas Circle. As you’ll see, there were numerous break-ins of vehicles in the parking garage this past week. This is not the first incident involving this parking garage, which is used both by building residents and commuters to Noma. Back around New Years, there were several acts of vandalism, including car’s tires being slashed and one vehicle even being set on fire. The building had contracted out security after those incidents but apparently let the contract lapse. These incidents seem of interest to those living, working, and hanging out in Noma.”

Presumably they’d validate so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“Dear PoPville,
I live on Girard ST NW between 11th and 13th. Yesterday, emergency no parking signs popped up throughout the entire street. But these signs say 4 spots total but are not spaced over 4 spots but up and down the entire block (both sides) with the arrows not creating any real start/end. The dates say 7/25 – 8/22 for Mon – Sat 9:30am – 3:30pm. Is there anyway we can fight these signs or contact someone to show they are not used properly?”
