“Dear PoPville,
The below-email is from the Elevation building (100 Florida Ave. NE), the big apartment building on Dave Thomas Circle. As you’ll see, there were numerous break-ins of vehicles in the parking garage this past week. This is not the first incident involving this parking garage, which is used both by building residents and commuters to Noma. Back around New Years, there were several acts of vandalism, including car’s tires being slashed and one vehicle even being set on fire. The building had contracted out security after those incidents but apparently let the contract lapse. These incidents seem of interest to those living, working, and hanging out in Noma.”

“Dear PoPville,
I live on Girard ST NW between 11th and 13th. Yesterday, emergency no parking signs popped up throughout the entire street. But these signs say 4 spots total but are not spaced over 4 spots but up and down the entire block (both sides) with the arrows not creating any real start/end. The dates say 7/25 – 8/22 for Mon – Sat 9:30am – 3:30pm. Is there anyway we can fight these signs or contact someone to show they are not used properly?”

Parking sign madness continues with this gem from Kevin who spots the above on North Capitol and Buchanan Street, NE.

Help me out with this one. Top sign, makes complete sense. Second sign… still with you there. Third sign… trumps all above signs when it pertains to the right of the sign? I sat at this sign for a good minute trying to figure out if I could park there. Then I realized that’s what they wanted from me. Not today, DC, not today.”

“Today, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced the next phase of the curbside pickup-dropoff (PUDO) program will focus on commercial activity. DDOT has partnered with curbFlow, a mobility company that coordinates commercial operator pickup & drop-off activity to available curb space in real time. As part of the project, curbFlow will research and analyze the demand at nine locations throughout the District where commercial loading and PUDO activities for delivery services often leads to double parking and other dangerous behavior.
