A new liquor license placard for Chaia says:
“Request to add a Summer Garden with 16 seats.”
Ed. Note: Chaia is also opening a 2nd brick and mortar spot at 6th and I Street, NW.
Thanks to Jamie for sending:
“New Italian place where on M and 30, Pier 2941 (which closed back in January) and that Vietnamese place (Little Viet Garden space back in 2014) used to be. I actually like what they did with the patio! Good luck to them.”

Well this is interesting, back in September 2017 we posted about Alfresco Tap and Grill’s original liquor license placard:
“New Class “C” Restaurant serving American comfort food and offering alcoholic beverages. Total Occupancy Load of 350. Offering Summer Garden with total capacity of 150 seats.”
A new placard went up over the weekend that says:
“Applicant requests to add a second Summer Garden to their existing Summer Garden endorsement. The second Summer Garden will have seating for 65 patrons on the terrace.”
This is going to be some serious outdoor seating. Sweet. And hopefully construction will start soon – STAY TUNED.

Kent Boese, Candidate for DC Council Ward 1 • Chairperson of ANC1A, tweeted us the good Bad Saint news yesterday:
“Received notice that @badsaint_dc has applied for permit to have 10-seat outdoor sidewalk café. I look forward to supporting this application at May @ANC1A meeting.”

And Elle asks:
“Odd Provisions building a patio? Could they become the Glen’s of 11th St??”

The liquor license placard says:
“Applicant requests a Summer Garden Endorsement with 10 seats.”
Nice! Previously we learned:
“The 1,300 square foot Cidery and Tasting Room at 711 Kennedy Street NW will be the center of all ANXO cider production upon opening. The tasting room includes a bar that seats 30, and will function as a neighborhood bar three days a week. In addition, we look forward to hosting events that celebrate cider and DC’s growing community.”
Standby for an opening date.

Nice! Thanks to Tom for the heads up about Rito Loco’s roof deck plans.. Bloomingdame told us on Friday: “They got a grant but still need BZA approval. Case next week.”
Looks like they’ll be ready by spring if the BZA goes through. And don’t forget they have a liquor license now, I think that went through, or at least it should by spring as well. Stay tuned:

Good news from Little Coco’s: “Rolling out brunch this Saturday at 10 am!”
Check out the menu: little-cocos-brunch (PDF)
Also we’ve mentioned Little Coco’s roof deck but now it’s looks like they’ll be adding more seating out front. So what’s the early word here, I loved it, anyone else take a taste yet?
