Just tried to go to Alfa PieHouse (H St. NW) and it’s empty and closed. I assume it’s due to the lower foot traffic in this area at lunchtime—but whatever caused it, it’s definitely a big loss for the neighborhood!”

Update from Philotimo:
“Unfortunately, our restaurant had a kitchen fire a couple of months ago resulting in a closure for the foreseeable future.
It looks like the restaurant won’t be able to reopen until next spring.”
Thanks to Mike for sending: “The note on the door has been there since the summer, so pretty dated. I walked by yesterday and Philotimo is still closed form the kitchen fire they had in the summer. Do know if they will reopen?” (more…)
