Thanks to Cheryl for sending:
“I’ve been wondering what’s been coming to this space. This is in between DC Reynolds and the old Walters on Georgia Ave. Now I understand why DC Reynolds had to return part of their patio space.”
The liquor license placard for Tsehay Ethiopian Restaurant says:
“New Restaurant serving Ethiopian food. Summer Garden with 20 seats. Seating for 42 inside and a Total Occupancy Load of 62. Requesting an Entertainment Endorsement to provide live entertainment inside the premises and for the Summer Garden.”
STAY TUNED.

Climax closed after a major fire back in July 2016. A liquor license placard for Lucy Bar and Restaurant says:

Total Occupancy Load of 128. The Licensee is also requesting an Entertainment Endorsement to include Live Entertainment, both indoors and outdoors, as well as a Cover Charge, and Dancing.”
STAY TUNED.

Last week I spoke about the resurgence of Ethiopian restaurants with word of Infusion coming to the former Chief Ike’s space. I didn’t realize the Quara that opened on H Street was the same Quara from Adams Morgan:

Time to bring back Spy Lounge or maybe NY NY Diva? No, definitely Spy Lounge.

1725 Columbia Road, NW
Chief Ike’s closed after 25 years in March 2015.
The liquor license placard says:
“Infusion Club and Restaurant
A new Tavern serving Ethiopian cuisine. Seating capacity of 350 inside. Total Occupancy Load of 600. Sidewalk Cafe with 30 seats. Requesting an Entertainment Endorsement, with Dancing and Cover Charge.”
Based on the size, I wonder if this will also be taking the adjacent space that was set to become, with coming soon signage still up, Villa Tuscana.
Infusion will join other recent Ethiopian arrivals to Adams Morgan – Zenebech Injera, Quara, Ababa, and Asmara, not to mention Adams Morgan Cafe.
Updates as Infusion gets closer to opening.

Oh wow – thanks to a reader for sending this Queen of Sheba listing from Craigslist:

And so it is written – the Zenebech Injera to Adams Morgan is no dream:

Update: “I am the older son of Etete. My name is Alazar Tesfaye. This is news to us. Etete still runs the business. And it is still family owned. Etete has not retired. She just got a new partner. She hired a new chef and expanded the menu.” (more…)

Finally a little more promising info about HU Market & Deli coming to the former Soul Vegetarian space near Banneker and Howard University:

Anyone stop in for a taste?
