This LIDL in Columbia Heights will be approximately 27,000 square feet.
Part of this space was previously home to a Modell’s Sporting Goods.

Back in September we posted some scuttlebutt about rumblings that a grocery store may be interested in the vacant space(s) in DCUSA (14th Street, NW between Park and Monroe.) Turns out it will be a Lidl!

“Dear PoPville,
I’ve noticed a significant amount of demo work going on in the former Modell’s store at DCUSA, and next door in the already vacant space that used to be Elite? something or other. They took down a couple of walls to open up the space (for what would make a much bigger single retail space) and they’re even tearing out the drop ceiling that used to be in Modell’s and the previous store next door. According to one of the workers, Columbia Heights Target (14th and Irving/Park Road, NW) is under construction because they are putting a mini Ulta inside. Customer service, the food vendor, and Starbucks are being redone so that a very large Starbucks can go in. The Pizza Hut is being removed.” (more…)
