A reader reports:
“two cars caught on fire on the 1100 block of 6th Street NW this morning sometime after 8am.
911 was called at 8:20am and the fire department arrived two minutes later. By the time I left my house at 8:35, the fire was completely put out and I would have been none the wiser if I hadn’t seen it leaving my house.
Thanks DC Fire and other emergency responders for saving the neighborhood!
Anyone else see anything?”

“Burned Out Car at Corner of 26th & H St NE
Right across the street from the Charles Young Elementary School, which is now occupied by the Two Rivers Public Charter School.
The burned-out car has been sitting there since the weekend. It’s in a lot used by DDOT, and was reported to 311 twice now.”

“Around 10:30pm last night, my wife and I woke to the sound of an explosion. We looked out our bedroom window, onto the alley behind our house, and saw a car on fire (Audi SUV). We, along with many of our neighbors, called 911. The fire dept. quickly showed up and extinguished the fire.
We live on a quiet street in Brightwood. As far as I know, no one claimed the car — some suspected it was a stolen vehicle and intentionally destroyed.”
Not sure exactly where it happened but Pablo spots this painful sight at a car towing company in the 2600 block of Reed Street, NE. I’m not gonna speculate but…

“Heard a big boom, then had the next door neighbor stick her head out the front door to tell us that a car was on fire out back. As you can see, the fire dept. knocked the fire down pretty quickly.”
