If you’re looking for a handsome and playful fellow to brighten up your home, Cool’s your man! This 2-year-old guy is as friendly as they come; he’s incredibly affectionate and genuinely loves his humans! Cool likes to play with toys and tell you about his day, but don’t worry – this even-tempered and gentle boy is a good listener, too. Cool will make a wonderful and fun companion for someone lucky – is it you? Find out more about adopting Cool here: Cool at King Street Cats

Meet Sierra! This 4-year-old lady was rescued from a neglect situation in South Carolina, but she’s now in the DC area looking for her perfect forever home! Sierra can be timid at first, but once she gets to know you she’s a moderate-energy dog who loves to cuddle. Her foster family says she’s both sweet and goofy, even as she’s learning about how great it is to live in a home! Sierra is crate-trained but can be a bit vocal when first put in the crate (mainly because she wants to go where you’re going!), so she’s probably not the best fit as an apartment dog. Sierra loves to go for walks, and has done well ignoring her foster family’s cat. She will do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who will take the time to make Sierra the confident and loving dog she was born to be! Volunteer Note: With the economic and mental health stresses of the pandemic still very much a part of many people’s daily lives, sometimes companion animals can bear the costs. If you see an animal being abused or neglected, please contact the Humane Law Enforcement team at HRA, at (202) 723-5730. You may not just be helping the animal, but their human family as well. With that said, if you or someone you know is in need of mental health assistance, please reach out to DC’s Department of Behavioral Health, at 1-888-7WE-HELP (1-888-793-4357). Let’s look out for all our neighbors as best we can.
