A reader reports at 11:53pm Sunday night:

“we saw the aftermath of a bad crash involving four cars on the southeast corner of North Capitol St and Bryant NE. One individual appeared to have substantial injuries and was taken to an ambulance in a stretcher. Notably, she was driving a car with diplomatic plates. Secret Service arrived after MPD. She did not cause the crash. I spoke with a Lyft driver who arrived on the scene shortly after the crash and tried to help the driver of the car that did cause the crash. (more…)

Sheryl writes: “Paraiso opened a drive thru tonight. Thankfully it didn’t look like anyone was hurt and damage was minimal”

Thanks to SD for sending: “Last night around 10:15pm, came across this car that jumped the median and crashed into a pole–totally abandoned, no one inside. Pretty sure this is Rhode Island and Florida Ave, NW”

“Dear PoPville,

I (freshly-30 woman) had a mouth agape moment while driving into DC from the Bethesda area between 9 and 9:30am today (Tues, Aug 10). I looked in my rearview mirror at a red light and saw what I thought was a man looking at a notebook. As the light turned green, I realized it was in fact a man on. his. laptop. while. driving. I was so shocked that I switched lanes just so he could pull up next to me at the next light and I could confirm what I saw. He had the sense to at least look a little ashamed when we locked eyes. From DDOT:

“This July, the Bowser Administration is celebrating 16 years of DC Circulator connecting DC residents and visitors to many of the District’s main attractions and liveliest corridors of business, culture, and entertainment. Beginning Monday, July 12, DC Circulator riders will have an opportunity to share their experience riding the system through the annual DC Circulator survey, which helps the District improve and deliver great service.

“The best gift riders can give to DC Circulator for its 16th birthday is feedback on their ridership experience,” said DDOT Acting Director Everett Lott. “Customer feedback is critical to DDOT’s work to plan, improve, and expand the DC Circulator system, so the more feedback we receive the better.”

In addition to the annual survey, every three years the DC Circulator relies on rider feedback to update the Transit Development Plan, which guides future growth of the system. In the 2020 update, DDOT used stakeholder feedback to determine the best route to return service to Ward 7, proposed improvements to the system operations and performance District-wide, as well as an extension of the Dupont Circle-Rosslyn (RS-DP) route to U Street NW.
