I understand that signs like these are expensive but it is so much nicer than the flimsy banners that seem to proliferate every time a new store opens. So I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Ansonia Wines is located at 1828 18th Street, NW.
The one above always cracks me up – “vegetarian and meat restaurant”. And the one below saddens me:

I know some folks love these signs as much as I do. Here’s one I found on the side of the Government Printing Office Building on North Capitol near H Street, NW. This is my new favorite one in DC. And here is the blog Unnecessary Quotes that everyone links to when I post one of these signs. It is hilarious.
China Boy Deli is located at 817 6th Street, NW. It actually has surprisingly good reviews on Yelp. Has anyone happened to check them out?
I don’t think they made our list of best Chinese food in the city.
