Once again for the expats: You can really see the building starting to rise up. It’s still hard to imagine what 8 stories will ultimately look like but it is very exciting.

Thanks to a reader and new Petworth resident for sending me this photo.

She writes: “I just moved to Petworth about 10 days ago, and yesterday I passed the new location for Taqueria Distrito Federal – 805 Kennedy, so a block or so off Georgia. Here’s a picture. I’m excited! Never eaten there before, but it’s just a couple blocks from where I live and on my walk home, so… won’t be long!”

This Murrell building is located at Upshur and Georgia. I thought I heard a while back that it had already sold. Anyone know what the word is? On a side note it is also kind of funny to see a realtor selling their own building…

This post is for all those agnostics out there. Now you have it – incontrovertible truth that God exists. I just received this note from a reader:

“I ran into the owner of Taqueria Distrito Federal this afternoon. He told me he’s opening a second location in…. drum roll please…. Petworth! He said it’ll be at the corner of Georgia and Kennedy, and he hopes to open in April.”

For those unfamiliar with Taqueria Distrito Federal simply read this great post from the Wilco ticket contest.

While I normally give all my love to the sweet tree in Grant Circle, lately I’ve been admiring these three trees in the triangle park just south of Grant Circle at New Hampshire and Taylor. How did they bend like that? Was that natural or were they manipulated like bonsai trees?

I promised some folks last week that I’d post a photo of Moroni & Bros. new interior. I very much like the color and the photos of DC around the restaurant are super cool. And of course the pizza remains delicious.
