“Dear PoPville,

My husband and I were sitting outside of McClellan’s at Connecticut and Florida around 6, 630 yesterday. A woman ran sprinting by chasing after her dog who’d gotten loose. The dog bolted across Connecticut and seemingly disappeared into the depths of the neighborhood. We never saw the woman come back with her dog. As a fellow dog-owner, my heart went out to her. I was wondering 1) Did she catch him? 2) If not, is there anything I can do to help search for him? Happy to help, if she wants or needs it.

“Dear PoPville,

My work-from-home arrangement from COVID will be continuing indefinitely, and I’d love to volunteer as a foster dog parent in DC, however I have a fairly small studio apartment and I’m not sure if I’d qualify. Have other readers in studios been successful in becoming a foster dog parent in DC? And if so, which organizations are recommended?”

Been getting a bunch of emails about this good looker:

“Parakeet spotted in the alley between Belmont and Chapin Street NW. It also brought along a sweet rainbow. Did anyone lose a pet? I saw it yesterday and again today.”

“Dear PoPville,

Tonight (Friday) around 7:15 my fiancé and I went to go grab a bite at cinder bbq (8th and Upshur St, NW.) Our puppy Lucy knocked over an easel which terrified her which caused her to bolt and slip out of her harness. Before our eyes Lucy was sprinting up upshur street. The entire community of people out around 7:15pm shouted, stopped cars, and unquestionably saved Lucy from a very terrible incident. (more…)
