“Dear PoPville,

STOP with Rat Poisoning: even small amounts kills dogs and other animals like squirrels, birds, and other wildlife….DO NOT put out green rat poison pellets, the rats carry them to other people’s yards and even trace amounts can be lethal to wildlife and our pets! We all want mice gone, but not at the expense of killing other harmless animals and our beloved pets. If you are putting it out, STOP and if you know others who are, please spread the word….let’s all use the HUMANE way to abate mice, put out traps and/or call 311 to talk to the rodent control they will help with finding burrows and making sure we take care of the problem the ethical way without selfishly and unethically killing our fur-babies! FYI – Glue Traps are also harmful as birds can fly into them and lose their wings. (more…)

Not sure if anyone else has written in regarding this but figured it’s my duty as a dog owner.

Two and a half months ago my dog and I started going to the revamped Shaw dog park. We were stoked since it’s much bigger than most dog parks in the area and it’s convenient location. Then trouble began. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I was wondering if the PopVille community could steer me towards any apartment complexes in DC that don’t charge an arm and a leg for large breed dogs, let alone restrict them? I’m finding a lot of these places don’t even allow for large four legged friends. Any and all recommendations/suggestions are greatly appreciated!”
