In March we noted that after many moons of vacancy the old Argonaut space had been listed for sale. Apparently it sold. A new liquor license application for the space says H Street Beverage Warehouse is coming:

“A new Retailer’s Class “A” Liquor Store.Licensee is requesting a Tasting Permit Endorsement.”

The Argonaut abruptly closed back in July 2016. A terribly sad day. Stay tuned.

Yesterday a reader shared word that a crab shack was coming the old Driftwood Kitchen/True Orleans space on H Street, NE. Now a tipster hears that the crab shack will likely be The Boiling Crab:

“It all began in a little Southeastern Texas town called Seadrift. With a population of just 2000, Seadrift was home to Yo’Daddy and his family of crabbers and fishermen. They labored in their boats year-round, catching oysters, crab and shrimp for the seafood industry.
