Justin sends the crazy shot above around 6:45am: “In Capitol Hill at the 11th St / 395 interchange…there is zero warning by MPD that you can’t continue down 11th St until you get to the cleanup and then are forced into the interstate.”

MPD reported at 5:41am: “First District patrol units are on scene of an overturned truck carrying trash. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Duet has been closed since the fire in December and I noticed today that the sign had been replaced. Looks like an outpost of Masala Art. Hope they can make it work, though I miss Toscana!”

Ed. Note: It was inevitable.

“Dear PoPville,

Parakeet running with a group of unruly sparrows on Capitol Hill

It was with a bunch of sparrows that it seemed to be hanging out with…

Not exactly camouflage by the Hart Senate Office parking lot bushes (East Side across from St. Joseph’s Church)”

Ed. Note: The last time we posted about this parakeet @PoPville on twitter a reader responded that they’ve tried to catch him/her multiple times but have been unsuccessful. I think they said they’ve been leaving bird seed, let’s not go there, and provided some sort of shelter. Of course this memory could be tainted by the gin.

Thanks to Caroline for sending:

“No more Subway in the Eastern Market area! I tried to open the door to head in for my morning Oven Roasted Chicken on wheat and then saw the sign. It’s a loss for me. I loved the staff here. One employee’s wife even made my whole family traditional Tanzanian garments for Christmas one year.”

Updates when we learn what becomes of the space.
