We are throwing an epic hip hop show and dropping some sick new beers/collabs on April 28th. Join us at the brewery for an evening celebrating everything hip hop. Mr. Lif & Akrobatik are The Perceptionists and they are headlining an amazing lineup of extremely talented artists including Ben Shorr, World of Light Media, Keenan Orr and DJ Smudge. For the 5th year in a row the lineup includes some of the city’s best and most promising artists, as well as performers from around the country and world. This year’s festival features a large number of new faces who have either not been a part of the event in the past or have not played in a couple years. The 2018 festival will feature nearly 100 performances throughout the day taking place at the parade itself and nearly 30 other different performance area, venues and stages. “The Black Cat will start off the new year by making some upgrades to our Mainstage concert room over the first few weeks of January. We’ll be enhancing the Mainstage, making a repair or two, and preparing for some long-term renovations that will continue over the course of 2018. The club will be open again in time for some great shows in late January. With our 25th anniversary around the corner, we’re using this time as a chance to build upon our legacy as a place of independent community and music — while also looking toward the future.”

Back in September we noted that the first floor of MARVIN Temporarily Closed for “10 year anniversary prep.” Update from MARVIN:

“At our 10 year mark, we decided in August to renovate bistro at Marvin. With a couple months to reflect on it, we all realized that the true importance of Marvin is in the cultural and entertainment realm. After considering all of the ways we wanted to add to the neighborhood, we decided to re-open the first floor as Marvin Social- a small live music venue, offering good food and inventive cocktails serving the vibrant and diverse community of our neighborhood. The current schedule is here under “Marvin Social Performance Line Up”. In keeping with supporting our community, we’ve partnered with Joe Herrera to book local talent and Dwayne Morton, our beverage director, has been working hard on curating our cocktail menu to feature local distilleries.”
