“Dear PoPville,
The other day I was at the Bouldering Project wearing a shirt from the French popstar Yelle. Another woman at the gym saw it and excitedly told me she also loved Yelle! We had a short convo about French music. Fast forward to today and I just found out that Yelle is playing at 9:30 club on February 25th. Maybe she wants to go to the concert together? (more…)

Today’s excellent FQotD comes from my sister in law: What was your favorite 9:30 Club concert?
Super tough one. I’ve narrowed mine down to Wilco in 2006, MIA in 2007, Drive by Truckers in 2009, Amadou & Mariam in 2012, Sturgill Simpson in 2015 and Thievery Corporation a million years ago, that first Thievery one was so so good.

My deepest regret was not being able to get tickets for the Beastie Boys Rock The Vote concert in 2009. It’s the only time I’ve stood outside trying to get an extra ticket and failed. Still haunts me.
What was your favorite(s)?
