“Dear Neighbors, Friends and Supporters of the Uptown:

Thank you again for all your support and enthusiasm for our idea to revive the Uptown as a center for arts, film and education.

As you know, last week we submitted our proposal and letter of intent to lease the property. The owners got back to us this week to say that while they are impressed with our efforts and appreciate our vision, they have entered into a letter of intent with an “arts/theater group” that they believe “will change the course of the Uptown and the neighborhood.” (more…)
