Thanks to Eric and Alex for passing on the report that the movie theater Regal Gallery Place is closing.
Business Insider reported “39 more Regal theaters are closing in the US amid bankruptcy.”
Included on the list is Gallery Place Stadium 14 (Washington, DC)
“Cineworld detailed the plan to reject the leases starting February 15 in a new bankruptcy filing on Tuesday.”
Another good reminder to support this gem. In November we noted that there was No More Vision for the Uptown Theatre Literally and Figuratively.
Lucky Strike Bowling and Bar Louie closed in this building back in 2020.
Reminder that District E “nearly 14,000-square-foot live-event theater offering a 365-day-a-year, series of immersive experiences in esports, music, event programming, and community events” is still coming to this building in the former Bar Louie space.
Updates when we learn the exact date of the Gallery Place closure.
