“The Library of Congress will host its fourth annual “LOC Summer Movies on the Lawn” outdoor film festival this summer, starting on July 8. The series of five movies, which showcases iconic films from the Library’s National Film Registry, will be presented on Thursday evenings at sundown between July 8 and Aug. 5 on the north lawn of the Library’s Thomas Jefferson Building, across the street from the U.S. Capitol. Attendees will be permitted to gather on the lawn beginning at 6:30 pm.

No tickets are required for these outdoor film screenings, but capacity will be limited. Vaccinated attendees are not required to wear masks, but the Library recommends that attendees wear masks when they are unable to maintain social distance. Each group of attendees will be assigned a seating location that is at least 6 feet apart from other attendee groups.

“DowntownDC Summer Flicks” Kicks Off Tonight

“The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) and Shaolin Jazz will host their fourth annual DowntownDC Summer Flicks – CAN I KICK IT? movie series on the recently reopened National Building Museum’s West Lawn. The outdoor, cinematic experience starts Tuesday, May 25, 2021, and will be accompanied by a social distancing lawn design.

The free movie series will run for 10 consecutive Tuesday nights from May 25 through July 27. Movies will begin at sunset and attendees are encouraged to arrive at 7:30 pm for best seating. (more…)

Starting May 1st Changes Coming to Coronaville Regarding Restaurants, Retail, Movies and More

“Beginning May 1st, the indoor capacity limit for non-essential retail businesses is raised from 25% to 50% or 250 people, whichever is lower.”

“The number of people who can sit together at a restaurant table is increased from 6 people to 10 people. Live music will be allowed outdoors for summer gardens, courtyard dining and sidewalk cafes controlled by the restaurants.” (more…)
