“Vax is a Must + 1310 Kitchen & Bar”

From a press release:

“Located in the heart of Georgetown, 1310 Kitchen & Bar – from first-time restaurateur of only 1.5 years, Chef Jenn Crovato – is known for its use of the purest ingredients and sustainable sensibilities. With a health-focused culinary approach, it’s only fitting that the safety protocols within the restaurant promote those same values. Beginning Wednesday, August 18, 2021, Crovato will require that all guests show proof of vaccination before entering the restaurant [physical COVID-19 vaccine card or an electronic photo of the card] – unless 11 years and younger.

Per the Mayor’s office, masks are required, even if vaccinated, to enter a building and can be removed when seated. With the return of students to nearby campuses, its highly trafficked area, and the expected surge of the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus – Crovato took a stance to implement these necessary precautions to keep the restaurant and its team safe. She chose to remain closed when restaurants could seat to full capacity, and only reopened 1310 Kitchen & Bar when the entire staff, as well as Crovato, had been fully vaccinated. Crovato will continuously follow procedures recommended by the CDC, but on her own has moved more aggressively with protective steps to navigate indoor dining over the coming month.

“I do not want to be someone’s last meal. It is about protecting people and respecting the people – licensed experts in the medical field – making these safety measures and decisions. We need to continue to move forward to a healthier environment. The hospitality industry does not want to go back to how we were a year ago. It was an economic disaster on so many levels. We need to be leaders in our community and do our part no matter, how small or large, to fight the right fight against what is confronting us with the Delta variant. Be a good neighbor and we all will be better for it.”

Crovato strives for 1310 Kitchen & Bar to be pillar for positivity and progress in the community and the neighborhood it serves, an intention evident in every detail – from its health and safety protocols to its handwritten, weekly changing, motivational quotes of hope and love on the restaurants’ windows, which have been a constant source of inspiration to others since re-opening.

For those who may not feel comfortable with dining out, Crovato has expanded Jenn’s Homemade, a line of to-go home-style frozen entrées as a solution to her closed restaurant in 2020. Comforting classics include signatures from Chicken Pot Pie to Zucchini Lasagna with Lemon Ricotta and Mint. Crovato plans to add other favorites as well as selections for breakfast, brunch, and dessert. Order online from 1310 Kitchen & Bar – deliveries are only $5 within a mile radius with a minimum purchase of $100.

The 1310 Kitchen & Bar website, social channels, and all collateral will share the specific protocols moving forward as to avoid surprise or confusion about the new standards being put in place.”
