Kristin reported on Saturday: “I passed by there this morning on the way to an event and either they’re renovating (and replacing their sign?) or something’s up.”

Thanks to Ken for sending: “No more Mediterranean Spot? Or just rebranding?”
Mediterranean Spot opened up at 15th and U St, NW back in August 2012. Previously they were known as 24/Seven located at 1408 U Street. Back in 2013 they added brick pizza ovens at the current location. In May of 2018 we learned that the local ANC had “voted to protest the request for later liquor-service hours.”
Updates as more is known about DC Stone Pizza.
Anyone remember Love Cafe?

They also note: “We are releasing 3 new whiskeys this summer AND more releases to be announced by the year end!!”

Dan reports:
“I went to Panino Gourmet Sunday and all of the pumps/fill-up areas at the Valero were ripped out of the ground and were gone; some temporary fencing was erected where they had been. Fearing for the future of Panino I asked if they knew what was going on and they conveyed the message that the building would probably be torn down soon and with it Panino. Sad news that I hope somehow isn’t true.” (more…)
