“My daughter at JRHS is telling me that kids in her class saw someone with a gun in the park at Fort Reno, but that they all quickly moved to safety and are sheltering in place.”

Update from MPD: “Prelim info for sounds of gunshots in the 3900 block of Chesapeake St, NW-suspects in 2 vehicles exchanged gunfire. There is no active threat at this time. Ongoing investigating. School was placed on lockdown for precautionary measures.”

“MPD reports the 3900-4000 block of Chesapeake Street NW is closed to traffic due to police activity. Please avoid the area.”
