When Table first opened a couple months ago, they made a big deal about not accepting reservations. But sometimes popularity and lack of waiting space will change your mind. From an email:
As of today, it is possible to make reservations through the TableDC.com website. The restaurant will continue to welcome walk-in guests as well.
The decision came from the high degree of guest demand, coupled with the lack of space in the restaurant for waiting parties. Chef has heard from guests and taken action to respond. So, guests are recommended (but not required) to make reservations.

Dear PoPville,
Curious to know if you know the story with this house at: 1402 12th St, NW. Certainly not horse’s ass status, but the facade has looked like that for as long as I’ve known it. I had heard a rumor that it was covered in copper, which was stolen/stripped(?), but even if that’s true, I don’t know why it’s been left like this. Any idea?
This was actually nominated for a horse’s ass award back in July 2010.

1841 7th Street, NW
A couple weeks ago we saw the location of Derek’s Brown Mockingbird Hill – 1843 7th Street, NW. Now comes even more news for the construction on the 1800 block of 7th St, NW. Right next door to Mockingbird Hill will be a new oyster bar called Eat The Rich. A liquor license posted out front says:
“Bar focusing on Farm Raised Chesapeake Oysters, local beer, and mixed drinks. Seating Capacity is 67, with a total Occupancy Load of 67.”
I’m not really a big fan of the name but a “Bar focusing on Farm Raised Chesapeake Oysters, local beer, and mixed drinks” sounds awesome. Stay tuned.

1905 9th Street, NW
From a press release:
1905 Bistro & Bar is excited to team up with DC Brau on two beer events at the restaurant on Thursday, March 7th – a rooftop beer launch featuring the brewery’s newest release, Saint Joseph’s Tripel, followed by 1905’s first-ever beer dinner in the main dining room.
The beer launch is open to the public from 5 to 7 PM with no cover. Reservations are not required. The Saint Joseph’s Tripel is a limited-release Belgian-style ale, which clocks in at 10% ABV and is brewed with orange peel, coriander, grains of paradise, and juniper berries. According to the brewery, an angel has “blessed this transcendent ale with deep flavors of passion fruit, kiwi, and tropical candy.” DC Brau beers poured during the beer launch will cost $5. All pours from the first keg of Saint Joseph’s Tripel that night will be $5 cash and will benefit the family of Joey Belcher.
The 1905 dining room will be reservation-only for the evening, as Chef Joel Hatton pairs four courses, plus an amuse bouche, with selections from DC Brau’s portfolio, including the Saint Joseph’s Tripel and the limited edition Catoctin Creek Grape Brandy Barrel Aged Ghoul’s Night Out. The beer dinner is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM. The full dinner menu, which is subject to change, (after the jump.) (more…)

9th and O St, NW
Washington Business Journal reports:
“A partnership of Four Points LLC and The Warrenton Group LLC has the 16,000-square-foot Scripture Cathedral Church at 810 O St. NW under contract, two sources close to the deal tell me.”
I’ve always liked the church’s huge stained glass front.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that some sorta cafe is coming to 511 Florida Ave, NW. I stopped by on Sunday to see if they were open yet but unfortunately they weren’t. But you can take a peek in the window:

12th and S St, NW
Another reader spotted the awesome Delorean outside 12th and S St, NW and wonders what folks think of the new coffee spot – The Coffee Bar? They opened up back in Dec. 2012 and every time I’ve walked past the place has been smashed crowded. I’m hearing great things about them. You can see their menu here. Anyone try them out yet?
