“Juniotónico: a Gintonic Festival”

“The Gintonic (yes, sans ampersand) is a very important cocktail to Spanish culture. Aside from Spain being one of the world’s top gin-consuming countries, over the years, the Spanish have created a unique drink vastly different than the traditional English version, known for its bulbous glassware, quality tonics and elaborate garnishes. Long hailed for its own innovative Gintonic menu with seasonal, weekly-rotating flavors, Estadio is once again celebrating Spain’s favorite cocktail for the third year in a row (after a two-year pandemic hiatus), with the 3rd Annual “Juniotónico: a Gintonic Festival” from Monday, June 6 through Thursday, June 30.

All month long, Estadio will showcase creative Gintonic cocktails & slushitos, an expansion of its rare & Spanish “Suitcase Gin” program helmed by owner Max Kuller, “Gindustry Mondays” happy hours, and an extra-special kickoff party on Monday, June 6, featuring the return of its longtime bar manager Adam Bernbach for the night!

Sweet City Jeeps

Thanks to Nick for sending above: “I’ve been seeing this around a lot lately, finally was able to snap a pic today although I wasn’t able to get as close as I would have liked as it was pulling away. It’s a WWII Willys Jeep. The rear markings say “Max Speed 40 MPH” and “Caution Left Hand Drive No Signal” which was what was painted on jeeps used in England before D-Day.”

“Dear PoPville,

I live in an 1890s row house and received notice of a massive mixed-use development coming to the block a few doors down from my home. As part of the project, several existing buildings will be razed, and they’re attached to my and my neighbors’ homes. Needless to say, we’re concerned about how the construction will impact our homes and the immediate vicinity. We don’t want to end up with blocked steets/alleys, increased traffic, cracked foundations or something worse! We plan to attend an upcoming zoning meeting to share our concerns, and I’m wondering if anyone in the community has lived through this experience, and what, if anything, can be done to protect our interests in advance.”

Thanks to Michelle for sharing. I can confirm that I’ve been getting similar hauls on the daily.

It’s crazy every time I think I know who I’m voting for I get a flyer and I’m like, oh wow, I’m gonna vote for them. I have great conviction and confidence in that decision. But then I go for my afternoon constitutional and pass some lawn signs and the confidence of my earlier decision is shaken to the core. And to make matters worse the next day I get a whole new batch of flyers, shattering my previous day’s decision once and for all.
