“walking home in Columbia Heights around 8 on Saturday to find a black crowned night heron just sitting right off the plaza on Kenyon.
I know they nest down by the tidal basin and at the zoo but I’ve never seen one up in this neck of the woods! He even stayed long enough for me to grab my real camera.”
