“Kneads, the Baltimore-based artisan bakeshop and café known for its handcrafted pastries, artisan breads, specialty coffee, and elevated all-day dining experience, is expanding its presence in DC with a new location at Thompson Washington D.C. in the vibrant Navy Yard neighborhood.

Kneads has signed a long-term lease to assume operations of the existing restaurant space at Thompson Washington D.C., located at 221 Tingey Street SE, Washington, D.C. The approximately 5,500-square-foot space will feature a signature pastry counter, full-service bar, spacious dining room, dedicated study area for guests to work remotely, and an expansive outdoor patio.

The Navy Yard café will become Kneads’ second Washington, D.C. location, joining its highly anticipated Logan Circle location, which is also slated to open later this year. (more…)

“Not sure when they opened at 2100 L Street NW but went today for the first time. They had a LOT of staff but the ordering process felt a little disjointed – I was not sure who to go to of the four people behind the counter but everything came together quickly. My sandwich was pricey, but absolutely delicious. Happy to have them in the neighborhood as a break from West Wing Cafe.” (more…)
