Adams Morgan’s SunTrust Plaza Saga Update – Land Donated to Jubilee Housing!!

Thanks to JM for sending: “I’m excited about it! I love the work that Jubilee Housing does.” WTOP reported:

“Truist Bank has donated the former SunTrust Bank branch and adjacent plaza at the corner of Columbia Road and 18th Street NW in Adams Morgan to nonprofit Jubilee Housing, clearing the way for development of affordable housing on the prominent site.”

The Washington Business Journal reported:

“The new owner says it will work with the community to determine next steps.”

Update from DC Fire and EMS: “Update Box Alarm 1600 block 14th St NW. Fire under control with no injuries. Investigators on scene to determine cause.”

Thanks to Kim for sending around 4pm: “Smoke coming out of Pearl Dive new roof area… huge fire presence”

From AlertDC: “DC FEMS reports the 1600 block of 14th Street, NW, between Church and R Streets is closed due to fire department activity. Please use alternate routes.”

Bammy’s “Navy Yard Location is Currently Closed.”

Thanks to Dana and Mike for sending: “Just saw that Bammy’s closed but don’t see anything about why… Any info? I LOVED that spot and saw PoPville did too.”

“the Bammy’s website has been taken down. It’s kinda crazy to me how they haven’t told any of their customers that they closed. And won’t respond to inquiries about it.”

Bammy’s IG now says: “Our Navy Yard Location is Currently Closed.”
