Zawadi writes:

“This will be our last newsletter of 2023. We take this opportunity to convey that we will be closing our brick and mortar store on Friday, Jan. 27, 2024. As you can imagine, it has been a difficult decision and one that has taken many years to reach. However, we are satisfied in knowing that I have lived my dream life for 32 years and have walked unimaginable roads with Zawadi. I have touched and been touched by many lives. End of an Era: “City Bikes-permanently closed”

“Noticed they updated their Instagram bio to “permanently closed.” Unfortunate to see, I always had great experiences there.”

On their Facebook page they also post a permanent closure as well as noting “On September 21, 2023, City Bikes filed for Chapter 7 liquidation bankruptcy.” (more…)

“Do you think this is related to stealing checks? I can’t imagine USPS would go after someone stealing packages. It must be really bad if USPS is actually getting involved?

‘WANTED: We’re offering up to $100K reward for info leading to the arrest & conviction of suspect who has been stealing mail from apartment buildings in the Adams Morgan area of northwest Washington, DC from October 2023 to present.'” (more…)

MPD reports at 12:08pm: “MPD is on the scene of multiple people shot near the intersection of O Street, SW and Half Street, SW.”

From Alert DC:

“MPD reports the following road closures due to police activity:

– Half Street between N and O Streets, SW
– South Capitol Street, SW, between N and O Streets, SW
– Carrollsburg Place and P Street, SW

Please use an alternate route”

Thanks to Jeff for sending: “the 7-11 near Thomas Circle at L St NW and Vermont Ave NW closed. Signage already removed. Seemed like they did brisk business, so I was surprised.”
