Back in September 2025 we broke the news that The Berliner would be reopening in Adams Morgan in the old Mellow Mushroom space on 18th Street. The Berliner closed at 3401 Water Street, NW in Georgetown, “due to extensive, multi-year renovations and construction planned by the building’s new owners” back in 2022. Almost a year ago I was told that the Popal Group (owners of fellow Adams Morgan hot spots Lapis and Maison Bar à Vin) bought the building most recently home to The Jerk Pit (et al). Word was that they would return The Berliner there. And as we used to say in the business – BOOM!

The Berliner’s website now says:
