“Dear PoPville,
Any idea what’s going on with the new apartments on 4600 block of Wisconsin Ave (the former Kitty O’Sheas)? It’s been months since there were any workers on site and it’s half done. It’s a huge pain because they took over the sidewalk and forced pedestrians into the street behind barriers. The no parking signs (more…)

From a press release:
“TACOCAT, the latest addition to Western Market from acclaimed chef and restaurateur, Tim Ma, is now open at the Foggy Bottom-based food hall.
The new taco stall is serving an unapologetically fun lineup of globally inspired bites, embracing a no-rules approach to Mexican staples. The menu blends creativity with authenticity, featuring a variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, and ceviches, alongside bold appetizers and playful takes on breakfast classics. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I went to Manhattan Market in Woodley Park today (surprised they were open) and asked the gentleman when the last day was. He told me they’re not closing – that they found a way to stay open. I didn’t press him for details but glad to hear they’ll go forward.”

“Dear PoPville,
Simple Bar & Grill, a Brightwood institution for over 12 years (& located just north of Petworth on Georgia Ave) has had to close its doors. Over the years, Wilfredo and the whole Simple team tirelessly supported area families and businesses, DC’s LGBTQ+ community, local music & arts scenes, & more. As they are now faced with financial challenges due to the unexpected closure, I’ve started a GoFundMe to help with the unforeseen expenses.”

“Dear PoPville,
Wondering if the fine people of PoPville can help me out, I donked up pretty good with my partner about two months ago. Donated her high school copy of The Handmaid’s Tale to one of the little libraries in Mount Pleasant – any chance one of your readers reading this found and read it?? Her initials are JW and I’d be happy to replace her copy with one from Lost City Books ;-)”
If you have it please email me at [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP.

“Dear PoPville,
FYI something super weird going on at Parker & Ace on H St. My pet goes there and we’ve only seen these cryptic instagram posts. I can’t get a refund for the credits. I have on my account. Seems like they are owned by a VC company and who knows something like the funding may have dried up. There are people commenting that their dogs are in the middle of antibiotic regimens and they can’t go for their follow ups. It’s really fucked up. The team there is always so nice but VC ruins everything. I have like $500 in credit there…”
