Eighteenth Street Lounge (ESL) has signed a lease for its new location in Blagden Alley!!

“Monument Retail, the retail division of Monument Realty, announces today the signing of a long-term lease to reopen the acclaimed Eighteenth Street Lounge (ESL) in its new location in Blagden Alley.

ESL owner Farid Nouri tasked Valerie Mnayarji of Monument Retail to represent the 25-year-old brand in finding its new location, trusting her real estate expertise and DC-market knowledge. “Finding a new space for the iconic nightlife and entertainment staple, keeping in line its existing clientele while adjusting to the changes in the market was a challenge but high priority,” said Valerie Mnayarji of Monument Retail. “With its new location, nestled in a vibrant and dynamic community driven by a high-end restaurant scene, ESL will be a revamped version of its original successful concept, capitalizing on the shift towards the eastside of the district.”

“Dear PoPville,

I was parking and clipped a biker in Columbia Heights. He swerved but kept going and i tried to follow him on foot (I was a little flustered and apparently didn’t remember that I had a car and could follow him- which admittedly prob also would have been sketchy). I want to see if his bike is damaged or if there is anything I can do. I bike a lot so I am mortified i was that person.”

Readers reported: “Sounded like two jets flew extremely low above houses last night around 11:45. Heard in Woodridge, NE, and apparently out into Hyattsville. It was almost unbearably loud, and I’m not particularly noise sensitive.”

“So I woke up to an extremely loud noise – and my neighborhood listserv starts popping off a few minutes later. Apparently we had two fighter jets just fly over #Hyattsville?”

“It was crazy loud in Riverdale.”

“Anyone else in DC area hear an incredibly loud/close aircraft fly by (sounded almost like a missile) just now? What was that?? (NE in Hyattsville).”
