Red Hound Pizza is now open in Takoma Park at 7050 Carroll Ave. Red Hound Pizza offers square pizzas created using the partners’ favorite aspects of both Roman and Sicilian style pizza-making. The pizzas are made with locally-sourced ingredients including freshly-milled flour from local and regenerative sources. Owned by Andrea Alvarez and Charbel Abrache – former head pastry chef at DC area favorite, Seylou Bakery where he led the pastry team to develop recipes using whole grain flours and alternative grains and created its popular pizza program. “On July 5th, Takoma Park institution, the TPSS Co-op grocery store, will begin a 12 week construction project. During the remodel, the TPSS Co-op will run a pop up tent operation in the parking lot (Sycamore side lot), so that customers can still conveniently purchase items. The TPSS Co-op tent operation will carry produce, groceries, wellness products, beer, pre-packed bulk items and a large selection of other customer favorites. Note from the Co-op: Don’t wait until the last minute to stock up. The store will be sold down on many products by July 1st to prepare for the transition. Stock up on your pantry items before June 30th while they are still getting regular shipments!
