“Cielo Rojo is now open now at 7056 Carroll Avenue, Takoma Park. This new family-owned, fine-casual Mexican restaurant serves traditional cuisine including tacos, enchiladas, pozole, gorditas, carnitas, salsas, moles and more. Tortillas are handmade in-house, grinding their heirloom corn that comes from Oaxaca, Mexico. There is a carefully crafted tequila and mezcal menu and cocktails. (more…)

“Heads up on a new West African restaurant serving (currently) breakfast through dinner that just opened in Takoma Park in the last couple weeks. Only seen a couple people in the place yet, but it looks nice and has a heck of a long wine list for such a small space. Near Erie & Flower Aves.”

My desire to find and share the most beautiful, one of a kind vintage clothes with others was the motivation to start the business but it because so much more. In the nineteen years, we have seen a generation grow up and start their own families. We have outfitted countless brides, prom-goers, theatrical productions and photo shoots. The shop has weathered recessions, elections, blizzards, and hurricanes.
It is with equal amounts of hopefulness and sadness that I announce that PollySue’s will be closing on December 31, 2018. (more…)

“On October 28, 2018 at approximately 3:50am, the sounds of gunshots were detected in the area of 6th & Otis Pl NW. Upon MPD units arriving on scene, officers located a black handgun containing an extended magazine and two spent shell casings on the street.
If anyone has investigation regarding this offense, please feel free to contact MPD at (202) 727-9099.”

“At approximate 10:30 pm last night (Saturday) in the 6700 block of 14th Street, N.W, the Metropolitan Police Department responded for the sounds of gunshots. An individual in the area was stopped and questioned, however the officers cleared the assignment without incident or evidence of gunfire.”

“On Sunday, October 28th, 2018, at approximately 1150 PM there was the sound of gunshots in the 500 block of Roxboro Place NW where one male was found stuck by a round in an extremity causing a non-life threatening injury following a verbal argument with the assailant.”
