“At approximately 345 pm, members of the First District were called to the 1200 block of Howison Place SW for sounds of gunshots.. Moments later, an adult male was located a few blocks over suffering from an apparent gunshot graze to the body. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injury. ..There may have been (1) or (2) vehicles fleeing the area at a very high rate of speed.. “On 5/27/19, at approximately 10:58 p.m., officers from the First District were in the 1300 block of First Street SW when gunfire was heard nearby. The officers responded to the area of the gunshots and found an adult male victim that had been shot in the back. (more…)


From MPD Sunday 5:30am:

Earlier this morning, Third District officers were patrolling the area of 9th and U streets NW when they heard the sound of a single gunshot. Officers pursued a subject on foot, detaining him a short distance away. At the time of the stop, the subject was in possession of a firearm magazine loaded with ammunition, but no firearm.

A short while later, an adult male approached the officers with injuries consistent with graze wounds to the lower extremities. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers and detectives are continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

“May is mental health awareness month, but most of us aren’t aware just how many of us struggles. Hearing that 1 in 5 of us has a mental health challenge isn’t as meaningful as hearing the humans facing those challenges.

That’s the point of All The Feels, a mental health variety show, that is next Wednesday, May 29th at Union Stage. I live in one of the older condo buildings on M ST SW by the Waterfront metro stop. I normally park on 3rd ST, but recently parking has been much more difficult due to all the new residential buildings in the area. Last week, I parked on K ST SW at 3rd, which is a bit further than I normally park, but I didn’t think much of it. (more…)

“Officers received a call for a report of an assault that took place yesterday Saturday, April 20, 2019, around 3 pm in the area of the waterfront metro station. The victim states he was struck in the face several times by two suspects. During the altercation, the victim’s phone fell from his possession and slid across the ground. After the assault was over he realized that his phone was gone. The suspects were last seen heading Eastbound on M ST SW. There is currently no lookout for the suspects.
