Early Morning Shooting around 9th and U Street, NW; 10pm Shooting Near Nats Park and Audi Field; Reported Sound of Shots Fired in Columbia Heights Friday/Saturday 2:30am

From MPD Sunday 5:30am:

Earlier this morning, Third District officers were patrolling the area of 9th and U streets NW when they heard the sound of a single gunshot. Officers pursued a subject on foot, detaining him a short distance away. At the time of the stop, the subject was in possession of a firearm magazine loaded with ammunition, but no firearm.

A short while later, an adult male approached the officers with injuries consistent with graze wounds to the lower extremities. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers and detectives are continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

From MPD:

“On 5/25/19, at approximately 10:05 p.m., officers from the First District responded to the 1500 block of First Street SW for the sounds of gunshots. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim that had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital and his condition is not considered life-threatening. There is no usable suspect description at this time.

First District detectives are actively investigating this incident. If you have any information or video that may be relevant, please contact the First District Detectives office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”

On Saturday a reader reported:

“we heard several gunshots around 2:30 am today. At least three ⁦‪@DCPoliceDept‬⁩ patrols were present at 14th and Otis St NW and they seemed to be looking for bullet shells with flashlights on both sides of 14th. Today we tried to ask around but everyone seems to be 🤫”
