“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to a Leaving After Colliding and Theft One (Stolen Auto) Offense that occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2020, in the 3300 Block of 18th Street, Northwest.
At approximately 4:55 pm, a delivery driver left his vehicle running unattended at the listed location. The suspect entered the vehicle and began to flee. As the suspect fled the scene, he lost control of the vehicle and struck the delivery driver, an adult female and two juveniles. The suspect then exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Update from DC Fire and EMS: “Update pedestrians struck 18th & Newton Streets NW. #DCsBravest transporting 2 children and 2 adults to area hospitals. All have serious or potentially critical injuries. No additional patients.”
Reader reports: “Car went up on sidewalk. Driver fled.”
Another reader reports: “a car appears to have lost control on the corner of 18th and Newton NW. Kids were hurt, stroller crumpled. Police and ambulance on the scene. Very scary.” (more…)
