3155 Mount Pleasant Street, NW in the old Radius spot next to Purple Patch

Can’t believe this was Radius!

The 45-seat restaurant from the owners of Nido serves Spanish-inspired cuisine, Spanish wine, vermouth and sherry-based cocktails, and vermouth on tap.”

Check out the menu: Mola Menu (PDF) and a look inside:

    Wow that menu looks good!

    Reminds me of Obelisk
Nido is good but I left kinda hungry…

Went last night and the food was fantastic! The fried goat cheese with honey and beet chips stole the show for me. The owners are really great too!

Was there last night, food is pretty good, portions a bit small, but that’s always the case with “shared plates”. They do plan to expand the menu as they go though – filler food like patatas bravas was mentioned. The owner(s) were super nice… but it may also have to do with the fact that I also showed up on a soft opening night for a glass of wine and chatted them up a bit
I think it’d be nice if on weekdays they have something like a vermouth night, or sherry hour, or some other special feature.

Looks good. But I wonder when we’ll hit the saturation point for Spanish restaurants.

I can think of less than half a dozen in all of NW. I wouldn’t call that saturation.

I loved Radius Pizza and sad to see it gone, but they did a nice job judging on the photos above.

Wanted to love it. Food is great, owners super nice. I love Spanish cuisine and the cocktails rock. But I don’t want to spend $40 and leave hungry. SO disappointed.
