Back in April we learned that Maiz64 was coming to the former B Too space, which closed in July 2020. Maiz64’s website says:
“A modern homage to authentic Mexican cuisine, featuring local ingredients that result in exquisite and vibrant creations.” I am told they are nearing the end of construction. (more…)

From MPD: “Alert: Shooting Investigation at 2111 hrs in the 1400 block of R St NW. No lookout at this time.”
At the time a reader reported “15-20 shots were fired”
As of 7:30am Wednesday morning, readers still report “R Street currently closed to all traffic between 14-15th with police presence”
Update from MPD:
“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle in a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in the 1400 block of R Street, Northwest. (more…)

Lupo Pizzeria is officially opening up today at 4pm in the former Taylor Gourmet space which closed in 2018. Prior to them this was the longtime home to Ruff n Ready.
