MPD Looking for suspect in Daytime Armed Robbery on H Street

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, November 23, 2017, in the 800 Block of H Street, Northeast.

At approximately 2:10 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos above.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

“Hit and Run Near Sherwood Playground and Elementary

This Saturday afternoon, November 4th, around 3:35PM my boyfriend witnessed a hit and run near Sherwood Playground and Elementary. This man dragged the child and his bicycle for 10 feet. Instead of stopping, the driver backed up at least three times in an attempt to free the bicycle from the vehicle’s undercarriage. When unsuccessful, the driver completely ran over the child’s bike and fled the scene. (more…)

Early Morning Double Shooting on H Street, NE

“At approximately 2:15 AM this morning, members of the First District responded to a shooting in the 1200 block of H Street, NE. Two adult victims were located, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims received treatment at local hospitals, and the wounds are not life threatening. At this time, the 1200 block of H Street NE is closed to vehicular traffic while we finish processing the crime scene. The case is being investigated by the First District Detectives office. Anyone with information relating to this crime is asked to contact us at 202-727-9099. You can also text any information to MPD at 50411.

UPDATE: All traffic closures related to the crime scene on H Street NE have been lifted and traffic is moving freely.”
