Scuttlebutt Confirmed: The Boiling Crab coming to H Street, NE

Last month we shared some scuttlebutt about the old Driftwood Kitchen/True Orleans space on H Street, NE. A new liquor license placard confirms that The Boiling Crab is indeed coming to H Street, NE. The placard for The Boiling Crab at 400 H Street, NE says:

“A new Retailer’s Class C Restaurant with a seating capacity of 160 and Total Occupancy Load of 174.”

Shooting in 16th Street Heights, Shots Fired in Brightwood

“On Saturday November 14, 2020, at approximately 9:00 PM, MPD units responded to the 4600 block of 14th St NW for a call of a shooting. MPD units arrived on scene and observed an adult male shot in the upper body. The adult male was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

Anyone with information related to this is urged to call MPD at 202-727-9099 or to text anonymously to 50411″

“The Fourth District is currently investigating an Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm that occurred on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at approximately 8:56pm in the 300 block of Van Buren St. NW.

Property damage was reported.”

“DC’s only authentic Swiss restaurant, Stable, will welcome guests back to their H Street home on November 12 for the first time since mid-March with a transformed dining room that will transport guests to wintertime in Switzerland. In lieu of traditional tables, five individual ski chalets – each with their own walls and vented roof overhangs- will create separation and privacy between individual parties. Guests opting to dine in chalets will be seated in the back room of the restaurant. The front will remain the base of Stable’s carry out operation and to-go market featuring bread and pastries baked fresh daily as well as Swiss wine, beer and specialty cocktails. A window perch opening on to H Street will also accommodate one party and, for the first time, Stable will add outdoor dining on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant as well as that of their neighbor, Atlas Vet. The (almost certainly an) Amazon Go Coming to H Street, NE Applies for Liquor License

A liquor license application has been posted for Amazon Retail, LLC (almost certainly an Amazon Go):

“A market that will serve hot and cold meals, which includes salads, sandwiches, pizza, sushi, baked goods,and non-alcoholic beverages. The market is requesting a Tasting Permit.”

HOURS OF OPERATION
Sunday through Saturday 7am – 12am”

Old Argonaut Space becoming H Street Beverage Warehouse Liquor Store

In March we noted that after many moons of vacancy the old Argonaut space had been listed for sale. Apparently it sold. A new liquor license application for the space says H Street Beverage Warehouse is coming:

“A new Retailer’s Class “A” Liquor Store.Licensee is requesting a Tasting Permit Endorsement.”

The Argonaut abruptly closed back in July 2016. A terribly sad day. Stay tuned.
