Thanks to a reader for the heads up after yesterday’s news about TJ Maxx closing December 24th:
“DSW is closing January 21st.”
I called DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse this morning and they confirmed January 21st will be their last day.
DSW opened in Friendship Heights back in 2012.

The following street will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

Please note, although vehicular traffic will not be able to cross Wisconsin Avenue from Western Avenue to Tenley Circle, NW, from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., residents will still be able to access their homes if they live east or west of Wisconsin Avenue by using alternative routes other than Wisconsin Avenue.”

The owner of Sol Mexican shares the frustrating news yesterday. They were last broken into, along with neighbors, in June.
Sol Mexican Grill is located at 4220 Fessenden St NW and you can see their menu here. They are open 10:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. (closed Sundays.)

A new beer garden, Valor Brewpub, opened up very quietly in Tenleytown at 42nd and Wisconsin. They have a truck set up in the parking lot next to the Bullfrog Bagel truck and have set up tables in front of the former bike store space (the bike store is still occupying the adjacent building). (more…)
