Thanks to Alex for sending. Last week posted signage for Dreamy DC that a reader spotted but it turns out that was just an advertisement (well done indeed.) Turns out that a Bombay Street Foods will be taking over (more…)

UPDATE: The folks from Dreamy DC tell me it’s just an ad and that another restaurant is likely moving into the space. STAY TUNED.
Thanks to Nick for sending the new sign up at the former Pho Anh Dao space in Dupont. Dreamy’s website says:
“Get motivated.
It’s as easy as calling an Uber.”
A quick google search reveals:
“Dreamy – an on-demand motivational speech company that provides customers with optional free gifts (of weed).”

Sign seen in Dupont.

There is now a liquor license placard for ‘The Lounge’ at the former Eighteenth Street Lounge space:
“A new Retailer’s Class C Nightclub with a seating capacity of 499 and Total Occupancy Load of 499. Summer Garden with 37 seats.”
Seems aspirational at the moment but definitely looking forward to learning more.
In June Eighteenth Street Lounge announced it would be closing after 25 years.
STAY TUNED.

“Dear PoPville,
It is ongoing as I type and it is 3.10 am EST. How on earth can they have a permit for this? And how is it possible that this is the only hour this work can be done? Any recommendations on who to take it up with?”
