“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in connection with an Assault With Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Thursday, April 16, 2020, in the 1100 block of 8th Street, Southeast.

At approximately 7:00 am, the victim encountered the suspect at the listed location. The suspect requested the victim engage in a sexual act while exposing himself. When the victim refused, the suspect brandished a knife and assaulted the victim. (more…)


From MPD: “At approximately 11:00 pm last night in the 500 block 8th St SE, an unknown suspect(s) broke glass to the front door to an establishment and stole 2 bottles of whiskey and fled. Suspect information is unknown. Anybody with information is encouraged to call the MPD tip line at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411.”

Ed. Note: This follows yesterday’s report that Dio Wine Bar was robbed of wine on H Street, NE. We also subsequently learned that Bar Bullfrog was also robbed on H Street, NE that night.

Brandon reported: “mugging/assault on 1500 block of Constitution Ave NE. Three assailants fled on foot. Thankfully neighbors saw it go down and were out to help in seconds. 5+ squads and an ambulance

From MPD: “The First District is currently investigating a robbery that occurred this evening at approximately 7:55 pm in the 1500 block of Constitution Ave NE. The victim reported that they were approached by several suspects, who began punching him in the face before taking his wallet. (more…)

Readers reported: “Just heard what sounded like 6-7 gunshots, a pause, and then 6-7 more in response.”

Update from MPD: “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, April 13, 2020, in the 700 block of Longfellow Street, Northwest.

At approximately 11:20 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Clarence Skrine, of Northwest, DC.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”
